In drama recently we have been doing scripted work, looking at practitioners and also staging.
Not long ago we did a drama performance for the dance evening this was based on a song called ‘Fix You’ and we had to create drama around it. All of the performances had a strong story and were well thought of and they had a great success from the audience.
The scripted work was done on a number of plays such as the ‘Dolls House’, ‘A Taste of Honey’ and ‘Pygmalion’. These were performed as a group, and then performed to the class after we had performed our piece we were then assessed by Mr Perkins and Mrs Ashton who discussed or performances and what we did well and what we need to improve on.
The first bit of scripted work we did was at the start of the summer holiday where we had to learn a short script, a monologue, and perform it as a solo for when we came back we also got assessed on this performance for things like projection, tone, movement, staging, facial expressions and more
We have also been on a trip to see backstage at the BIC - have a look at the pictures on the Photos page!
