 Extra Curricular Opportunties

Improving your BTEC grade

What can I do to get a better Grade in BTEC?

 1. As you studying the new BTEC First Certificate in Dance every lesson you are continually being assess by your Dance teacher every lesson. You need to always come to each lesson prepared and focus to work to the best of your abilities.

2. Go through your folder and see what areas you have achieved your highest marks. To get a Distinction you need to achieve Distinction in all areas of the course. Write down where you have lost marks and make an appointment with Miss Martin or Mrs Ashton to see if you can move these marks up.

3. The BTEC course allows you to improve pieces of coursework over two years. Most pieces of homework’s are coursework so always spend at least 2 hours a week on your homework pieces. After school Dance Clinics take place on a Wednesday night to help improve your written work. Use this time to go and get support so you can get the grade you deserve.

 4. There are a number of opportunties throughout the year where you can improve your technical skills as a dancer. Use this website to find out of opportunites or see the Performing Arts staff. During your two years of studying the course get yourself involved in as many extra curricular activties as this can contribute towards your final grade.
